This 70 minute original drama is set in the time before the War of the Ring and tells the story of the Dúnedain, the Rangers of the North, before the return of the King. Inspired by only a couple of paragraphs written by Tolkien in the appendices of the Lord of the Rings we follow Arathorn and Gilraen, the parents of Aragorn, from their first meeting through a turbulent time in their people’s history.
A scattered people, the descendants of storied sea kings of the ancient West, struggle to survive in a lonely wilderness as a dark force relentlessly bends its will toward their destruction. Yet amidst these valiant, desperate people, hope remains. A royal house endures unbroken from father to son.

From beginning to end, Kate Madison, brought the feel and atmosphere of Middle-Earth and those who live within. I have watched this many times and it still is a cinematic masterpiece that resonates with the Lord of the Rings films.

I wish there were a way to do more than just click "like" for this film. It is an excellent interpretation; both heartbreaking and hopeful at the same time, just the way Tolkien wrote it. I wish this director could take on more stories from the Silmarillion and Unfinished Tales of Numenor. She did a marvelous job with a low budget. Imagine what she could do with a heavy bankroll behind her.
This was really an interesting movie with great storyline. The cast and crew were all amazing.
I just hope, one day, someone would remake this.
Great movie. Historical side note–the heredity kingship was part of some people's traditions, but time has shown what a bad idea that is since absolute power corrupts absolutely. Celtic clans elected their kings, couldn't create new laws, and were immediately recallable for breaking the law; this part of why the ancient Irish have been described as natural anarchists.
This is the proof that original content of Tolkien's Work can be created but always taking into account The heart and the true message of the Author… Great Job. For me this is a Prequel from the Original trilogy and it's magnificent.

This was wonderful! The costumes, sets, props, and cinematography were all believable and grounded the film. And the characters, dialogue, and story brought it to life. It really felt like another chapter of the beloved movies, and while we didn't have as much time to get to know these characters, you still made us care deeply for them. Thanks for creating this and letting us see this story come to life. It is a hard thing that so much sacrifice must be made, but to preserve hope and a future, it is worth it in the end. Very well done indeed.

What can you say but WOW! The story telling here is first rate. Peter Jackson and the his orkish ilk should pay heed, the story is everything, the rest is just ego tripping.
By the way, I put away Jackson's movies long before viewing this ray of Hope. Amazon's RoP will get one viewing to be fair
